county sheriff's office says a cyber attack sent more than 100 hang-up calls to 9-1-1 last night. deputies were able to shut it down...before it crashed the valley's emergency system.zahid arab is live now...and zahid... deputies have made an arrest?... they did......an 18- year-old....just a young man... who's now here at the 4th ave jail.he told detectives this was all supposed to be a joke...to get him online hacker and programming community.a prank that's turned into a police record. the cyber crimes unit arrested 18-year-old meetkumar desai on three counts of computer tampering....after detectives say he admitted to sending out a twitter link...that officials say more than 18- hundred people clicked on.... that caused people's phones to dial 9-1-1 over and over, not allowing them to hang up. surprise police say it received more than a hundred of the bogus call....tieing up it's operators from actual emergencies.peoria police as well as agencies in california

happened...and will bring you more as it comes into the newsroom. police nabbed two suspects.. after an armed robbery in verrado.buckeye police were called out to a report of shots fired.they say a gunman robbed someone.. and fired a shot.. but no one was hurt. investigators haven't said what they were trying to steal. officers captured the suspects pretty quickly after that.here they are -- 30-year old eloy gallegos... and 32-year old michael bean... both from phoenix.police say they'll be charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and various weapon related offenses. there are questions tonight about whether the millions already spent to defend sheriff joe arpaio's racial profiling case - is putting public safety at risk.cbs 5 's derek staahl joins us - and derek the sheriff has added

team - and they are high dollar attorney's. they are - it's estimated that so far the racial profiling case against arpaio has cost the county more than 48 million dollars. the sheriff just hired out of state attorneys that will be paid directly out of the sheriff's budget... the same money used to patrol the streets. back in september.. the sheriff's office asked county supervisors to pick up the tab for a new washington d-c based racial profiling case..one million dollars - supervisors said - no.taxpayers have already paid tens of millions for a full team of "local" defense attorneys.but yesterday - those d-c lawyers filed these motions in court - on behalf of the sheriff.turns out: he hired them anyway.an m-c-s-o spokesman told us: the money was coming out of the sheriff's office budget.. but
